My Experience with pCloud's 10TB Lifetime Storage Plan
In December 2022, I purchased pCloud's 10TB lifetime storage plan. At first, I was a bit skeptical—it seemed like a fantastic deal, almost too good to be true. Before committing, I reached out to their support team with questions, mainly about the plan’s sustainability and whether pCloud could ensure business longevity over the long term. Their responses were reassuring, although a bit general, promising that things would be fine.
Since then, my experience has been very positive. The platform has been smooth and seamless, with no issues to date, and I’m glad I made the purchase! However, there’s an important caveat: while pCloud offers excellent functionality, it’s not entirely confidential like MEGA Drive. For example, MEGA Drive cannot view files uploaded to your private account. In contrast, pCloud scans uploads and monitors content to ensure it complies with their terms.
I’ve come across cases on Reddit where people with "lifetime" accounts were permanently banned for violating these terms. The top cause seems to be sharing copyrighted material, which is strictly prohibited on pCloud. Because of this, I strongly recommend against sharing any files using pCloud, especially if there’s a risk of violating copyright.
Despite these limitations, pCloud has been great overall. I use it as part of my storage setup but not as my primary drive, as I keep other drives for backups. Having a backup is always essential when dealing with cloud storage—just in case.
In summary, I recommend pCloud for its features and storage value but advise being mindful of the terms and having a backup plan to ensure your data’s safety.
